Original Broadcast Date: 4 February 1989
Phelps speaks to an attendant (Linda Cunningham) who takes part in a show featuring camels held in an auditorium at the San Francisco Zoo.
Phelps: They tell me the Arabian racing camel can reach speeds up to 40 miles an hour.
Attendant: That's true, but only over short distances.
Phelps: And even in the hottest deserts survive days without water?
Attendant: If you're really interested in these animals, uh, take a seat. Number 74 has a good view.
Phelps locates this seat. The recorder is hidden under it and Phelps places it on the seat beside him. The password is 357.
Good morning, Jim. The kingdom of Bajan-Du is on the verge of a political crisis. The late king was an enlightened man determined to lead his people into the modern world. His widow the queen was Lady Michelle Faulkner, a British subject. Her son, Prince Mik[l]os was being educated in England. He is the heir presumptive to the throne. He will be the next king of Bajan-Du unless this man stops him. He is Ki, the late king's brother. He hates the West and flirts with Eastern alliances. We have learned that Ki has devised a plan that will not only prevent the boy from becoming king but will cost young Mik[l]os his life. Your mission, Jim, should you decide to accept it, is to block Ki's plan and give Prince Mik[l]os his fair chance to claim the throne. As always, should you or any of your IM Force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This disc will self-destruct in five seconds. Good luck, Jim.
Phelps closes the recorder and leaves it on the seat. Smoke billows from it.
